Postcard from India
🪷🥭🛕
Good personal relationships with the people we work with mean a great deal to us, and it is very rewarding when we meet our partners. We try to limit travel abroad, so it doesn't happen very often. But this April we had saved it all up, and the trip went to India and later Bangladesh.

We started in tropical South India, where we were welcomed like family in our supplier's beautiful surroundings, which include a garden full of healing fruits and plants — and mangoes like we have never tasted before (straight from the tree 🤤!)

From there, we travelled to busy Delhi in the north, where we visited a new supplier that particularly impressed us with its social initiatives, including support for a school for children with special needs, a protected tree plantation and programmes that strengthen women's rights and skills.

For a clothing company, India is a unique experience. Textiles are deeply woven into the country's history and culture, and traditional hand-weaving techniques are kept alive as a national symbol of pride and independence 🙏 That alone is worth the journey.

Amid the endless buzz of millions of people, rickshaws, the smell of deep-fried food, flowers and incense, we also found our way to textile markets, the Taj Mahal, a sacred calf and a local dosa walla. Experiences for all the senses. Thank you for an amazing trip to the enchanting land of textile art!
From there, the trip continued to Bangladesh. Read more here.
